Koh Samui with Bangkok Airways

Koh Samui is the second largest island in Thailand that lies in the Gulf of Thailand.  The beauty of this place is attracting people from the backpackers to luxury holidaymakers around the globe.  Not only white sand beaches with coconut groves but there are mountainous rainforest filled the island with lots of other activities to do beside water activities.

I could say that this place can be both far or near to Bangkok.  Because there are two ways that mainly people use to get to this paradise, Koh Samui.  The cheapest way is by catching bus from Bangkok to Surat Thani. The bus will take you directly to the ferry terminal.  No reservation required but just be sure to buy a bus and ferry combo ticket.  Then catch ferry to Koh Samui.  This trip will take as long as 12 hours journey.

However, for the quickest and easiest way to get to Koh Samui would be flying direct from Bangkok with Bangkok Airways.  It will definitely cost abit more but it is very convenient.  But if you book earlier or when there is promotion around, you would have more spare money to spend on your holiday.  Bangkok Airways is a boutique airline where you can have access to lounge with economy ticket purchased.  Many people don't know about this and miss out the opportunity.  There are 19 flights all together in one day from Bangkok to Samui, so there are surely lots of choices.  The flight only takes about 1 hour.  Therefore, it is certainly saving you plenty of times.  And also, it is completed with check in luggage and meal on board.  I think flying from Bangkok to Koh Samui is definitely expensive for a reason.  So, which way you will choose?

If you have chance to fly with Bangkok Airways, no matter in any airport.  Don't miss the khao tom mud (sweet sticky rice filled with banana).  It was really really delicious

The airport is look more like a resort to me with the beach-ey feeling.  Decorated with wooden roof and straw.  Very small airport, after we pick up our luggage, we headed outside and the hotel's guy was there waiting for us already.

Stay tuned for the next blog still in Koh Samui:
